Alex O’Loughlin staying at CBS

Alex O'Loughlin

Alex just signed a one year holding deal with CBS. It does appear as though Nina Tassler has not ignored the HUGE following Alex has and they want to keep him close and get him working on one of their other projects in development. This is good news for Alex fans…if we can’t have our Moonlight please for the love of all that is holy find a way to bring Alex back to us. But despite Nina’s claims we DO want a good quality show and if Alex has anything to do with it…it will be. I can hardly wait to see what they have planned.

Under the one-year pact, O’Loughlin will star in a new series project for CBS that will be developed by top TV producer Mark Gordon, whose ABC Studio-based company is behind such series as ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” Lifetime’s “Army Wives” and CBS’ “Criminal Minds.”

Under the new deal with CBS, he also will be able to pitch theatrical projects to CBS Films. Woot! Alex NEEDS his own silver screen spot for sure.

So what do you think fans? Good news?

  1. Alex was really great on criminal minds april 29th wednesday!Anyone else enjoy him there?!

  2. Some people are getting upset on the Peolple’s choice award website under polls about many many polls about Moonlight. Some that hate moonlight are sick of the polls,I make up a poll now and then about Moonlight b/c I love it so much!Go to that website and create your own poll about moonlight,It just goes to show you how many people love that show.I am zitano on that site.Look me up I am always commenting.

  3. Thank you so much Julie…Could you put this info on all the other threads above to let people know please?

I have always wondered myself why Mark GOrdon, who is based at ABC, though has shows on other channels, did not seek to have ABC buy out CBS’s rights to Moonlight… As I said, I think it is Nin’a treachery at work…I pray, for Alex’s sake, that he realizes this project he is working on may just vaporize into thin air without any of his fans checking it out, but will not pass Nina’s approval… I pray for this year to go by quickly so, if Alex is in an ironclad contract he cannot escape, that, when the year is gone that he will decide to get away from CBS…

I know this is a long time for any of us to wait, but perhaps this is what it will take to get Alex out of Nina’s and CBS’s clutches so that he can resurrect his future in acting…This contract is doing nothing for him and hurting him more than helping him is my gut feeling…

  4. I think it would be great if ABC could obtain the rights to Moonlight. I just heard a couple of days ago they are making The Apprentice 2 hours just to fill space. They need to know if they put Moonlight there they wouldn’t have to worry about such a problem. I will definitely write Mark Gordon.

  5. Patty & Everyone,

If you check on some of the other news headlines above, preferably New Interview With Alex, you will discover some addresses that I have given to get the ball rolling on another campaign to resirrect Moonlight with vampire success showing definitely… Can CBS say we all are actor-centric now with the unianimous results of the immediate success of the movie, Twilight???

Now we are hitting harder than ever to get what we desire, and have for a very long time, our Moonlight…We are not only going to keep hitting CBS hard with ONLY Snail Mail (e-mails can get deleted, quite probably purposely)sent Certified with return receipt and preferably sent Registered with return receipt to TPTB & the company that holds majority in CBS and that is Westinghouse…You can find out to whom you should address your letters on that thread above…

I know we are all saying, well this is the holidays and cash is short…Well, people, think of this as a gift we are giving ourselves and each other…A fair shot of retrieving what was so callously & viciously taken from us, Moonlight with its original cast which is headed by Alex & Sophia…

So I am hoping that this time they dare not ignore us & with some good luck maybe the Powers above Nina will give her what she so deserves on this holiday season…Her Walking Papers to depart CBS permanently…

Yes, a SAG strike may be looming, but this should not prevent us from getting the ball rolling again…This will not happen overnight, but them anything worth having is worth waiting for… But how can we say it will not happen if we do not give it another shot to try??? Let’s get our letters in the mail asap and start scratching deeper than the surface…

  6. I still hope fans of Moonlight are still bugging everyone at CBS that they jumped the shark letting go of Moonlight with all the vamps shows out lately!

  7. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE WHOLE GANG AGAIN ON THE 23RD OF JANUARY ON SCI-FI FRIDAYS AT 9PM!MOONLIGHT WILL START REAIRING ALL 16 EPISODES!IF ALL GOES WELL AND WE GET OUR OVER 8 MILLION VIEWERS AND MORE HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET THIS GREAT SHOW BACK ON THE AIR PERMANTLY!CROSS YOUR FINGERS EVERYONE!!!

  8. PS: I just noted that this site has me listed as both Pat & Patricia Schau…both are fine for those are my names..Some of our long time persons who post here and have become personal friends of mine may also refer to me as Tish… I use my real name because I have nothing to hide…

  9. I am still hoping for this to happen but since the contract was presented in July, 2008 to Alex & we became aware he signed it in August, 2008, not much is happening to show us it will ever become a reality…As most of us believe, it is a rotten Nina and her funkies trick… I again pray that this contract, which gratefully is keeping Alex’s paid during its tenure, does not hamper Alex’s career… he can make it bigger away from CBS in this country…

And furthermore, I hope Nina now realizes the outrageous mistake she made by canceling Moonlight…The vampire genre is in strong here and abroad…Already ticket pre-sales for the Twilight movie, based on Stephanie Meyer’s best selling novels, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, of the published series, have skyrocketed to great proportions in this county, U.S., before its actual public debut in movie theaters, which will be November 21, 2008… Moonlight would have kept CBS on top of the rating charts (some people still watching some shows on CBS are very diappointed and also tell me that “Ghost Whisperer” is the pits this season… I am still keeping my ban against CBS on my TV until I hear Cbs has Alex debutting in a show soon & will only watch that show and no more on CBS ever again)… No, Nina’s opinion is we were actor-centric… She is, by far, actor-phobic… Who disappointed her or is she afraid of that she cancelled a winner like Moonlight???…Alex was great in all I have seen him in since buying some of his movies, and now awaiting my DVD copy from amazon.com of “The Shield”, but Moonlight made us all cherish him & his portrayal of Mick St John… He will always be our favorite vampire, no matter who else plays one…though the YouTube clips of young Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in Twilight are growing on me… Not Alex, but potential as a charismatic actor…

And, as a banner I saw and love from an Alex site, Ozlighter, in AU. states:

“Moonlight brought us together; Alex keeps us together!”….

  10. And to Linda:

Alex was swamped with mail for his b’day… I do not know how long it will take him to wade through all of this mail, if ever…I was told, by Dayna, that all of mail for Alex goes to Alex, so hearing anything may take quite a while…And he left a message of thanks for all his cards 7 gifts on his MySpace page acknowledging their receipt, to a degree, but that it was going to take him time to read all… And hopefully he not doing this on a continual basis but taking care of the real important business at hand; reminding Mark Gordon, the executive producer (who has his offices at ABC Studios in CA who is supposed to create a show for Alex, that time is wasting & the contract is up in about 10 months, now as creation of contract began in June or July, with CBS…

I sent Alex a fairly large parcel for his birthday, something hard to miss, & I have hear nothing either, so it could be easy for a letter to get lose… Keep writing & also send letters to the other agent, as well…AND IF YOU CAN, CALL THESE AGENTS OR FAX THEM MESSAGES, WHICH CANNOT BE DENIED IT WAS RECEIVED…

  11. To Everyone who posts here at AOLO:

Mr Freeman is only Alex’s Personal Manager; I believe that the responsibility for negotiations pertaining to Alex’s recent contract with CBS lies with Alex’s booking agent in Australia which is the Judy Cann Agency… I am not certain of that address but I believe they are connected, on some behalf, with International Creative Agency whom have offices in this country, as well as abroad… I will look further into that & get back here with that information…

Dayna at the office of Mr Freeman is quite personable and very understaning what Alex’s fans are feeling, so please do realize that this is in no way her fault… She is the person fans usually speak with when they call Mr Freeman’s office in Marina Del Rey, CA…Dayna knows Alex personally, so that is a plus…BUT SHE WILL INFORM YOU THAT ANY MAIL THAT IS ADDRESSED TO ALEX IS NOT OPENED BUT DIRECTED STRAIGHT TO HIM TO READ FOR HIMSELF. So this may not be the wisest option UNLESS you direct the mail to just the Andrew Freeman Office & not mention Alex on the envelope…

The Phone# & FAX# for Mr Freeman’s office in Marina Del Rey, CA are as follows:

    Ph#: 310-827-4319
    FAX#: 310-822-0940

Aha, I found the office here in LA,CA that I read, at one time, handled Alex here in America & it may also be wise to do the same in addressing mail to this office as I offered would be wise to do above…DO NOT MENTION ALEX’S NAME ON ENVELOPE SO THAT IT IS OPENED BY HIS AGENT IN CHARGE TO READ…I do remember searching all over the Internet , when we were trying to save Moonlight, trying to ascertain the Any and all addresses to write to to save this show, I came across this address here for Alex’s US agent, booking I believe, though Alex is still affiliated with June Caan in AU…

    That address is:

    International Creative Management
    Chris Hart
    10250 Constellation B’lvd
    7th Floor
    Los Angeles, CA, 90067

    Ph#” 310-550-4078
    FAX#: 310-550-4055

I am still at odds as to why Alex was presented a contract from CBS that did not already have a definite project for him to work in… The negotiations by June Caan Agency are disappointing to me in that this agent should have demanded something tangible for Alex instead of some project that has not even been thought of as of the signing…

All I can say is God help Nina Tassler if she crews too long & keeps Alex in limbo for this year b/c there will be heads to roll & hers will be the first…

  12. I recently sent a letter to Alex’s personal manager. Mr. Freeman, but have not received a response as of yet. We should all write letters to him because it is time that we start to see or at least hear something about Alex and his new project. The new TV season is about to begin and some of the new shows do not look like they’ll last more than a few episodes, but then, if they are part of the CBS lineup, and a favorite of Queen Nina Tassler, then those will probably make it regardgless. The one I am waiting to see fail is the one on Friday nights that
replaced MOONLIGHT – I think it’s called “The Ex-list”. The lead actress has as much sex appeal as an old sock. She was boring when she was on “Grey’s Anatomy” as the as the “Jane Doe amnesia victim” and the concept of the show sounds ridiculous. I guess I am still angry that MOONLIGHT was not given a chance for a second season. Anyway, for those of you still missing Alex – go out and get a copy of “The Shield – Season 6”. Alex has a huge roll as “the new guy” and he looks fantastic. I got my copy yesterday and have already watched it several times. All we need now is the MOONLIGHT DVD that we are all waiting for. In the meantime, send letters to Alex’s
personal manager, Andrew Freeman, 20 Ironsides Street, Suite 18, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292 and let’s ask him to get the ball rolling so that we can have Alex back on TV soon. We’ve waited long enough. We want Alex back.

  13. Hi Elizabeth,

Yes I think I was the one who sent that to you, but received it from another Moonlight Sister, Gypsy Dyann (you know her as the author of the storyline I have sent to you about “Mick & Beth Meet Dracula 2008”, hopefully there will be more chapters…

We are all aware of Moonlight’s being a show that had a large fanbase & could have gone on for many years with more history behind all of the vampires, the new folklore, too… It is too bad that Nina was oblivious to all that attracted us to Moonlight, the series, and that we only began following Alex when he became Mick St John… We were all in awe of this handsome man who did not only have the looks but had the talent to keep his viewers wanting more, as did the whole cast of ML… But Alex became the focal point with the undeniable chemistry he had with Sophia as a romantic interest & with Jason as a brother type of friend…

I still feel that eventually Moonlight will rise again but when Nina gets reprimanded or fired from her position that she took her power from, not that she knows what she is doing in her position which is putting CBS in the dirt…And, hopefully, this all depends upon how she treats Alex with this new contract… He has already proved he is worth our attention & following; Nina hasn’t, she is capable of possibly even ruining his career by keeping him under contract to CBS if she either makes him invisible or puts him in s poor series not worth his talent…. I’d rather trust a snake than Nina anyday…

Still feel we should write to Mark Gordon, Alex & Joel Silver to see what we can do to resurrect Moonlight; maybe even write the actual CBS owners to cook the goose of the witch Nina, too… Think it’s Westinghouse….

  14. I forgot to add that I am beyond thrilled that Alex will be back. I’m sorry it’s not on Moonlight but at least he will have a job and a new project to work on. I will watch it no matter what it is. I wonder what they will do? I’ll bet it is action packed because Alex loves that. I wish him my very best, as always.

  15. I have to say that someone, I think Pat, sent me a picture of the new team from “True Blood” that airs on HBO tonight. They are certainly not our Mick and Beth! I believe this show is about vampires that live in the community but everyone knows about them. They even sell blood in the local stores although it is synthetic blood and not human or animal. It’s interesting to see that the genre is so alive but our show was canceled. I wonder why we never thought to ask HBO to buy our show? It was already successful with a 10 million viewer fan base.

  16. I wasn’t a big fan of CBS until Moonlight was scheduled in 2007. I then started watching other CBS primtime projects. Now that Moonlight was cancelled, I sort of gotten away from the CBS projects. I thought the Moonlight show was very well done, great acting and good story lines. I don’t know the economics of shows like this, but the actors and Mr. O’loughlin in particular is going to work a lot. I am looking forward to his next project.

  17. Hi Linda & Everyone Here at AOLO,

First the personal manager’s address, but do realize that this person is not actually his booking agent, to my knowledge… That would fall to Judy Caan Agency affliliated with International Creative Management… However, our concerns, if written in mass number, can be directed quicker, I feel, from letters finding their way to the desk of Alex’s Personal Manager…

    Andrew Freeman,
    Personal Management
    20 Ironsides Street,
    Ste.18
    Marina Del Rey, CA,90292

    Ph#: 310-827-4319
    FAX#: 310-822-0940

Mr Freeman’s office can, in turn, direct this matter directly towards Alex, since this is where to write to Alex personally & they actually give him all his mail unopened, or the PM can bring this concern before Alex’s booking agents…

But that booking agent also has a representative here in US. However, I do not believe there is as close a commeraderie at booking office with Alex as with PM, since the booking agent has many other clients under his care besides Alex…

    International Creative Management
    c/o Chris Hart
    10250 Constellation B’lvd., 7th Flr.
    Los Angeles, CA, 90067

    Ph# 310-550-4078
    FAX# 310-550-4055

I am not sure of Mark Gordon’s address, but he is based at ABC Studios… I located 2 main addresses for ABC in LA area & they both share the same main phone#…Remember that Mark Gordon appears, also,to be an independent executive producer, as is Joel Silver, even though both men house their production companies within the walls of major studios…

Both addresses for ABC Sudios in LA, CA Area:

I would , to be on the safe side with a enormous as ABC Studios are, write to both locations and addressing said mail accordingly:
ATTENTION: MR MARK GORDON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

    ABC TELEVISION STUDIOS
    4151 PROSPECT AVENUE
    HOLLYWOOD, CA., 90027

    &

    ABC ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
2040 AVENUE OF THE STARS (PLAZA LEVEL)
    CENTURY CITY (LA), CA., 90067

the 2nd address above contains the corporate offices of ABC…

We can ask Mark Gordon to acquire rights to Moonlight from studio & producers affiliated with our beloved vampire show, but Mark cannot just go ahead & produce it himself without buying out those who actually own the show…Warner Bros may have a share in those rights, but I think ML is Joel Silver’s baby… Of course, we may also run into those who created the story & character as they, too, have rights… There were 2 main writers involved in ML cration, one was a Ron K????, & Trevor Munson…

Howeverm Mark can has the right to create a program similar to ML, but it would have to be under another name… Of course, if Mark cannot get the rest of the ML cast to oblige fans in this new production Alex’s chemistry, however strong it is (& it is), will not be justified without Sophia at his lady & Jason as his best friend…

I really do not want Queen Nina even near a set with Alex, let alone have any rights to a say…She can be doing this to put a hold on his career & not let any show air for him…or she can let a show air and cancel it again…So I pray, instead, they leave him in limbo for the year so Nina does not do anymore harm…

Alex’s talents are much too good for the likes of CBS & Nina Tassler…. so are Sophia’s & Jason’s..BTW, a friend told me that Veronica Mars, which starred Jason was also on CBS & was cancelled, so Nina seems vengeful of all new actors to me…

  18. Pat, in response to my comments, you suggested that we also get in touch with Alex’s Personal Manager. Do you have an address so that we can do this? Also, is there a way to get in touch with Mark Gordon to encourage him to use his influence and begin this new project for Alex (bringing back MOONLIGHT would be our first choice, of course) as soon as possible? Let’s hope that Alex’s Manager really got a great contract for him and that things begin to move quickly so that this contract does not expire (the wish of Queen Nina) before anything is accomplished. We have seen her “joker-like” smirk and read her insulting comments long enough. The only thing that will wipe that smirk from Queen Nina’s face and knock her down that ladder that she climbed so quickly is to have Alex back on TV as soon as possible. What is that saying “success is the greatest revenge”, or something like that? We have to bombard CBS with our comments and show our support for Alex and let TPTB know that his fan base is ever growing. We come from all backgrounds and age groups (I’m a kid of the 70’s) and we know what WE want, not what Queen Nina wants. There is power in numbers and sooner or later, hopefully sooner, someone will listen to the number of viewers/fans that have been so passionate about Alex and do the right thing. The de-throwning of Queen Nina will be a great first step. Once again. let’s continue to bombard CBS to get Alex back ASAP because squeaky wheels do get the grease. Hopefully some of that grease will be on Queen Nina’s ladder. Good luck to Alex – hope he gets these messages and knows his fans, MILLIONS of us, have not forgotten him and are out there in full force.

  19. BRAVO LINDA FOR THE WAY YOU WROTE THIS MESSAGE, BUT DO POST IT ON THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER COMMENT ON THE ARTICLE ENTITLED “ALEX STAYING WITH CBS”…FIRST YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER TO COMMENT…BUT THAT IS ONLY A SMALL INCONVENIENCE TO MAKE YOUR FEELINGS (THE FEELINGS OF SO MANY OF US)ABOUT ALEX’S RECENT CONTRACT WITH CBS…

AND TO ALL WHO SUSCRIBE TO THIS ALEX SITE & GET ALERTS:
PLEASE BEGIN WRITING TO ALEX VIA HIS PERSONAL MANAGER & LET HIM KNOW HOW WE, HIS FANS, ALL FEEL…BE PERFECTLY HONEST WITH THE MAN BECAUSE HE HAS SEEMED ALWAYS TO BE ABOVE BOARD WITH US IN HIS MESSAGES…

WE CAN ALSO WRITE “THE QUEEN BEE, NINA” & LET HER KNOW HOW WE FEEL & WE WILL, AS ALEX’S DEVOTED FANS, NOT BE KIND IF SHE MESSES WITH HIM OR ANY SHOW OR MOVIE HE IS IN AGAIN…

AND TO GIVE YOU A VALUBLE LESSON OF LIFE, LINDA & EVERYONE, NINA TASSLER DOESN’T HAVE TO BE INTELLIGENT, SHE HAS FLUNKIES TO THINK FOR HER…AND TO ACQUIRE SUCH A HIGH POSTION ONE MAY HAVE HAD TO SLEEP WITH THE DEVIL FOR, AS THE OLD SAYING GOES, “IT IS NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, BUT WHO YOU KNOW” TO GET WHAT YOU WANT THAT MATTERS IN THE BUSINESS WORLD…

BUT i WANTED TO ADD SOMETHING TO THE COMMENTS THAT LINDA LEFT, FOLKS…
MANY OF US ACTUALLY HAD NEVER SEEN ALEX BEFORE MOONLIGHT AS NOT ALL OF US WATCH “THE SHIELD”… I KNOW I AM ONE WHO DID NOT AS I AM TRULY TIRED OF POLICE-BASED DRAMAS OF ANY VARIETY… SO THE STATEMENT BY TASSLER SAYING MOONLIGHT’S FANS WERE ACTOR-CENTRIC (& NO, THERE ISN’T SUCH A WORD)IS TOTALLY FALSE…HOW COULD ANY OF US KNOW THESE UP& COMING ACTORS/ACTRESSES WHEN THE 2 LEADS CAME FROM 2 DIFFERENT LOCALS IN THE WORLD???

NINA DOES KNOW SHE IS WRONG, THUS THE NEW ALEX CONTRACT, BUT SHE MAY LEAVE HIM IN LIMBO, WAITING IN THE WINGS FOR SOME PROJECT THAT DOES NOT MATERIALIZE FOR THE YEAR LONG CONTRACT…THIS IS MY FEAR AS WELL AS CBS GIVES HIM A NEW TV SHOW & THEN GIVES IT BAD RATINGS…

YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY, I DID SAY CBS GIVING A SHOW BAD RATINGS… I FEEL DEEPLY THAT CBS, WITH ITS FALLING STOCKS & ITS PRESENTLY LOW TV RATINGS, CAN “FIX” WHAT THEY SO DESIRE, IF YOU GET MY DRIFT; THINK PAYOLA, FOR THOSE WHO ARE OLD ENOUGH, AS I AM, TO REMEMBER BACK TO THE RECORD SCANDAL… I STILL FEEL THAT CBS WAS BEHIND MOONLIGHT NOT SECURING ANOTHER NETWORK TO PICK IT UP…I DO FEEL CBS HAS THE POWER TO PULL STRINGS TO MAKE PEOPLE IN THE TV & MOVIE INDUSTRY FOLLOW THEIR BIDDING…

I PRAY THAT ALEX HAS A DECENT SHOT AT A GOOD ROLE, BUT I HOPE, FOR HIS SAKE, THAT THIS NEXT YEAR GOES QUICKLY & HE WILL GET THE HECK AWAY FROM ANYTHING TO DO WITH CBS & TELLS HIS AU MANAGERS THAT THIS DOES NOT WANT ANY FURTHER AFFILIATION WITH CBS, AT LEAST UNTIL THEY FIRE NINA TASSLER…

WHEN I CHANGES THE NAME OF QUEEN NINA TO QUEEN BEE, NINA, I WAS REFERING TO A MOVIE FROM THE 1950S CALLED “QUEEN BEE” WITH JOAN CRAWFORD WHO PLAYED A VERY WICKED, DECEITFUL, & POWERFUL WOMAN…

I READ THAT ALEX’S CONTRACT INCLUDES HIM BEING ALLOWED TO DO SOME PRODUCING, WHICH I THINK MEANS CO-PRODUCING CERTAIN EPISODES OF A SHOW… I HOPE THIS WAS NOT JUST SOME PLOY TO LURE HIM INNTO THIS CONTRACT..I HAVE HEARD ONLY WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT ALEX FROM THE MESSAGE BOARDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE MET HIM SO I HOPE ALEX REMEMBERS HOW HIS CHEMISTRY WITH HIS FELLOW MOONLIGHT CAST HAD MADE THE VIEWERS ANXIOUSLY AWAIT THE NEXT EPISODE EVERY WEEK..HOW WE HATED THE WRITERS STRIKE FOR PUTTING MOONLIGHT’S PRODUCTION ON HOLD, TOO…SO IN RECALLING THIS SIZZLING ASSOCIATION WITH FELLOW ACTORS, I DO HOPE ALEX WILL USE SOME OF HIS POWER, WHEN HE CAN CO-PRODUCE & BRING IN THE CAST OF ML, ESPECIALLY SOPHIA & JASON…

  20. Though we are all thrilled about Alex and his new contract with CBS, how do we know that TPTB (Queen Nina)
will not screw him over again. Queen Nina has had nothing but negative comments regarding MOONLIGHT and the devoted fan base it has. She has said that MOONLIGHT was “actor-centric”, meaning that we only watched MOONLIGHT because of Alex. For someone who is supposed to have intelligence as a TV executive, this is one of the dumbest comments ever made. The point, Nina, is that there were over 8 million viewers who tuned in every week to watch MOONLIGHT with Alex and the entire cast. Obviously, by giving Alex a new contract with CBS, his talent, attraction, and fan base have not gone unnoticed. I for one have gone on many sites and posted as many comments as possible, several to CBS in hopes that someone will wake up, realize that Queen Nina has no clue of what a viewer wants and take away some of that power that she abuses. If she were not so arrogant, blind, and vindictive, MOONLIGHT would have been given a second season and we would be watching Alex right now. Let’s hope that Mr. Gordon has enough clout to create something new for Alex or bring back MOONLIGHT, and when we all watch BECAUSE of Alex, maybe this will shut Queen Nina up once and for all. Let’s continue to bombard CBS with our comments and hope that someone gets the message that it’s about Alex and CBS needs to promote him with a vengence just like they do for “Survivor”, the “CSI’s” and any other program that they want to succeed and not be so quick to insult the viewer. Regardless of why we watch MOONLIGHT or Alex is not as important as the fact that WE ARE WATCHING in the first place. Please CBS, do the right thing and give Alex all the support he deserves. His fans will be waiting. GOOD LUCK ALEX.

  21. Speaking of team work in films, Alex is not a novice to that idea… In several of his films in Australian, including The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant” Alex was joined in the cast by David Field, a prominent Aussie actor… So if Australia can dee the need to do such casting why can;t Hollywood follow suit…

  22. The word is not tegister, but is register… Sorry fr all the typos, but hopefully I pleaded my point as I felt it and hope you all will follow through to help Alex not be Nina’s scapegoat…

  23. Hey Folks,
Let’s get this perfectly clear & the only way now, prior to a new show or Paramount Studios movie with Alex, to to make this ABSOLUTELY CLEAR is to POST comments at every site available to do so including where the news article pertaining to this first appeared, The Hollywood Reporter… Tegister & make your comments known, as well at addressing Nina herself at nina.tassler@cbs.com. if I recall correctly; if this is not the correct e-mail address for this cobra than e-mail her through cbs.com… I would also voice my opinions tp Mark Gordon, the exec producer Alex will be working for at ABC Studios letting him know our fears…

Yes, Alex appears to be a young man with a good head on his shoulders, but I fear that he is also, at times, too much of a gentleman even when it comes to a she-devil like Nina… We are not, hopefully speaking for all, but definitely speaking for myself, abandoning Alex… if we must watch a show on CBS with him, hopefully as the lead he so deserves to play, so be it; we will watch to support him & only because he deserves our backing…but the boycott against other CBS shows will still reign…

I still am quite certain that this is a ploy of Nina’s to prove a point that Moonlight fans were “actor-centric”, a Nina word…She has no intention, just as she did not play up enough promotion of Moonlight, to promote Alex in any project… She is a vindictive, conniving B, and, in her own twisted mind, wants to punish fans of Alex & Moonlight for whatever reason, or because her “widdle feelings” were hurt by the actual truth of her not knowing what we want, and absolutely nothing about what draws a viewing audience that the fans of Moonlight and Alex have repeatedly voiced about her…Vampirism will always draw, has for decades upon decades…

Nina Tassler messes with Alex’s career again or leaves him in showbiz limbo, which is equally detrimental to his blossoming career, she will have a “War Against Her” she cannot win even if she called in th4e Marines…

I, for one, would like to see Mark Gordon, the exec producer who will follow this contract for Alex through, show the right smarts to again team together the Moonlight cast with Alex in another hit show… And if Nina disagrees I hope he has enough moxie to tell her to go “sit on it & rotate”… Alex should definitely be teamed with Sophia as his leading lady again for I have seen both him & her with other romantic leads interest & there was never any chemistry as they, themselves, share together… And, as for a sidekick, definitely that should always be Jason; Moonlight made them “brothers of the screen” forever… Tinseltown needs to rethink and remember the films of Hollywood’s Hay Days of the 40s and 50s & how often actors were always teamed together in all productions they did…It Worked!!!!

  24. the cast was of moonlight was great, they worked together well and it came across the screen, i wish there was something for dear sophia and jason, even the dude that played guillermo (jacob vargas)!

  25. Patty,

Ouch! I can’t desert Alex like that. I would much prefer that Alex AND Moonlight return but I don’t think it is going to happen. I won’t boycott Alex to make a point that will fall on deaf ears and hurt no one but him.

  26. This may be great news for Alex but if we start to watch Alex in some new show Nina will be right about fans that we only wanted Alex and not the whole package-Moonlight cast. She already made that statement. She just wants viewers back.I personally Love Alex but I will not give in to her and watch CBS,not until it’s Moonlight again with the WHOLE CAST!

  27. This is great news in my opinion! He deserves to be working and if he is involved, it’s got to be good. He was a driving force of Moonlight, and demanded excellence in that show–don’t you think he would settle for nothing less in a new show? I trust his insight, talent, and resolution to do the best job in whatever career choice he makes. Bottom line–if he makes it, I will watch.

  28. To dsa from earlier threads:

Was that you who posted as dsa88 on the Hollywood Reporter site on the Alex news???

    If so, loved the line:
IT WAS THE STORYLINE, YOU FOOLS!!! Thanks, and we all feel the same way all over at every ML site and then some…

We all have grown to love Alex, who I had never seen in any TV or film prior to Moonlight, so, of course, his acting, his mannerisms, he genuinely sweet & honest personna, plus his adaptation of Mick, all made us anticipate each ML episode, but does not mean we did not like the stories… We did, vampire stories have drawn attention since Stoker’s Dracula and eith an avid following…

Has anyone noted how the sales of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series took off and is being read by teen & adult alike??? I have read all 4 of the series now & anticipate the movie coming out in the latter part of this year… Again, it was a romance between an immortal(male vampire) & a mortal (a teen girl); similar to Mick & Beth, just younger in age…

And Sci-Fi Channel is showing Dracula’s Castle on Ghost Hunters on August 20th… Thos Dracula really lived and is why stoker fashioned his famous vampire Count… Vladimere Dracula impaled his victims( & enemies) on stakes, then drank their blood, but, he was a human…

CBS is up to something I fear…perhaps to try to prove Nina’s point that Moonlight fans were jus ga-ga over Alex & not the show… And yet, if someone was intelligent enough to correct her theory, the truth would be known… We all found Alex, the actor, & Alex, the man, equally appealing, but most of us found the story the real draw… The Twilight series of books proves that with their popularity!!! And now that Alex is known to us and that we became his fans, Nina will try to show we watched Moonlight just because of him… She is making him a scapegoat, I fear… This will not do his career good if Nina continues this nonsense…

So, anyway, dsa, how have you been? How is the fashion industry work? I believe that is what you clarified for me one time as your line of work…

Keep in touch, dsa, and the THR site I left a comment too as spiritedangel…

I am thrilled that Alex’s popularity is soaring in America actually… Couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy, in my opinion

  29. i will miss the dynamic between alex and sophia myles. but then stick her even the thin wibbly wobbly tiny whimey david tennant and she shines.

  30. Yes, I am thrilled that Alex will be working again & that means he will be remaining here in America… I am also disappointed that his agents would put his career in jeopardy by allowing him to sign again with CBS… CBS is only out to prove a point, especially Nina Tassler, that we, Moonlight’s fans, were actor-centric just for Alex not for the show to prove Nina Tassler correct… Problem there is that Alex has caught the eye of America in a pleasing way &, for the most part, many of us were unfamiliar with him, so this is not a fair test for Moonlight’s credibilty…

I, for one, never laid eyes on the man prior to Moonlight, but his abilities to breathe life into Mick St John did have me in awe of his acting capabilites…Since ML’s cancellation & my continued fight for its revival, as we all would love to see come about, I have acquainted myself with Alex’s career in film a bit… I have bought 4 movies with him in them, thus far, & am seeking to buy his other projects as well… This man is very versatile as an actor and will go far in his career…

I pray that CBS does not hamper that possiblity with this “New Deal” they are offering Alex… They can really hurt his career if they pull what they did with Moonlight…. Then his recently acquired fans will be up in arms Big Time, Nina Tassler, so do not think of that probability lightly…

I am all for Alex being within our view again, but I will not see Nina pull the rug out from under him again…And she seems the type, in my opinion, to do just that…

Nina’s assumptions that Moonlight was not a good show & that it was the actor(s) we all craved shows me that Nina Tassler knows absolutely nothing about show biz… What she is doing in her position is a mystery to me…. First of all, most fans go to see a movie or turn on a TV show b/c their favorite actor is in it… It does not make a difference if that actor was just standing on a set reciting “Mary Had A Little Lamb”, the actor was there for all to see… And actors are what make a show, not so much the lines(dialogue), but how they bring across those lines to the viewing audience… And it is the actors job to bring to life the characters they play so this brings to life the story…

Alex did just that, Mick St John was a perfect role for Alex, like it was written especially with Alex in mind… Add to that fact, I have seen Alex with various leading ladies in several movies now & I can truthfully say, Alex has a complete partner in chemistry with Sophia Myles…They just blend together as a couple, or actors playing a couple, should do… Their Mick & Beth characterers drew us in weekly in anticipation of what would occur next in their lives…Alex & Sophia need to be paired again in flims & Tv shows, just like Nick & Nora Charles (William Powell & Myrna Loy) in the Thin Man series of old movies I love to watch…

If CBS wants a series for Alex, let them bring back Moonlight with all of its familiar actors in their now famous roles to please their viewers?

Let’s face it folks, daytime soaps do not have storylines that would make prime time or the big movie screen… Even their actors are merely ho-hum… But yet these soaps remain on TV, wasting our time daily, but we are drawn…Networks can leave this stuff on, along with Reality crap & we watch it like robots…Isn’t it time we get heard loudly & have our choices met???

So why is it not the same for Moonlight as it is for daytime soaps, even if Nina felt the story was not good… If it wasn’t why did she allow it to come to prime time TV??? And, recently, CBS had a hand in People’s Choice Awards taking Moonlight off their roster as the Best New Drama… Also any nominations for Moonlight or its actors was deleted from the emmy roster…Who do you think had a hand in that??? I most definitely would not be falsely accusing Nina saying it was her doing!!!! The woman is a Nut case, a crackpot, & not qualified to be president of even a fan club or anything…

I have found Alex’s mannerisms, his personna, his acting, very appealing… He will go far, more than likely adding many awards to his credit, but it will be his doing only, not that of CBS that gets him there to the pinnacle of his career that I feel will last the test of time…

  31. Great news, this actor should be working all the time. I look forward to his projects.
