The Hawaii Five 0 red carpet event, which is known as Sunset on the Beach, returns this Friday night. It will be the eighth season that this highly popular event will be back on Queens Surf Beach in Waikiki. It was questioned by some that they would have the event at all after Peter Lenkov announced it would not be at its usual time of year (the premiere episode). However, since season 8 has clearly been the season of change, including the addition of new lead characters , there is little surprise that Sunset on the Beach has also changed.
With a different time of year for the event, comes a few other required changes, which include an earlier start time (according to the poster) and a different purpose. Although Alex fans are just happy to know that if they will make the event, they have a good chance to get their selfie with him, the event has a bigger purpose this year. Occurring on Veteran’s Day weekend, the event will have a special tribute to the armed forces with VIP attendees. Some of the best episodes over the past seven seasons have been of Steve’s SEAL background. The show has a reputation of honoring the military with respect and accuracy so it makes sense to bring that type of honor in person to those that can attend.
As for what to expect from Sunset on the Beach, you can check out a few posts we have done in the past including some personal accounts from fans, some past photos and videos from last year, and a collection of some more over the years. Although we can try to describe it in words, that just won’t do it justice, so we have included videos from each of the seasons for a better feel below. We have tried to provide you a variety of them to see what really happens there.
One thing for sure is it will be a fun filled event that will bring many new pics and videos of Alex and other cast in attendance. According to the Star Advertiser it will be a packed house with all the main cast being on site including Scott who has missed some in the past. Expect Alex to be on the red carpet doing what we all love to see- being himself and saying thanks to fans!
Here are the videos in succession. There are some extra ones from season 5 as it was the celebration of the 100th episode! Enjoy!
As for the site, we will have an update post as soon as we know some live feeds that you can watch if you cannot make it there live. We will also bring as many pics and videos to you through-out the weekend as we have in the past. We will also post some on the social media accounts the night of the event, so be on the look out as there is no doubt that a lot of Alex goodies will be coming your way.
